Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy
At the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Futuristic Development (IJMFD), we are deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality across all disciplines. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and constitutes a serious breach of scholarly ethics. This policy outlines our stance on identifying, managing, and preventing plagiarism throughout the manuscript submission, review, and publication process.

Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism involves the presentation of someone else's work—ideas, text, data, images, or figures—without proper acknowledgment or citation, as though it were the author's own. This includes:

  1. Copying text, tables, figures, or images from other sources without citation or permission.
  2. Paraphrasing substantial content from previously published work without proper referencing.
  3. Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse significant parts of their previously published work without appropriate citation or justification.

Plagiarism not only undermines academic honesty but also distorts the scholarly record and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Plagiarism Detection
All manuscripts submitted to IJMFD are subjected to plagiarism screening using reputable and advanced plagiarism detection software. This check is conducted before the peer review process begins to ensure the originality of the content. Manuscripts are assessed based on percentage similarity with previously published sources.

Plagiarism Handling Procedure
Depending on the level of plagiarism detected in the manuscript, the editorial office of IJMFD takes the following actions:

  1. Less than 5% similarity: The manuscript is considered acceptable with minor textual revisions. It will be assigned a manuscript ID and proceed to peer review after author clarification if required.
  2. 5% to 15% similarity: The manuscript is not assigned a manuscript ID. Authors will be notified and required to revise and resubmit after correcting the overlapping sections.
  3. More than 15% similarity: The manuscript is rejected prior to peer review and returned to the author for significant rewriting. A fresh submission will be required after all instances of plagiarism are corrected.
  4. More than 30% plagiarism: The manuscript is immediately rejected without review. Such cases are deemed severe violations, and authors may be blacklisted for future submissions if the plagiarism appears intentional or excessive.

Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, IJMFD follows a rigorous ethical protocol to investigate the issue. Upon confirmation of misconduct, the following actions may be taken:

  1. Notify the author's affiliated institution(s) and funding agency(ies), if applicable.
  2. Add a watermark or label on the article PDF indicating "Plagiarized Content."
  3. Issue a formal retraction notice linked to the article.
  4. Publicly disclose the breach of ethics in the journal.

Author Responsibility
By submitting a manuscript to IJMFD, authors certify that their work is entirely original, properly referenced, and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Authors are expected to understand the differences between quoting, paraphrasing, and plagiarizing, and to use citations responsibly. Ignorance of plagiarism will not be accepted as an excuse.

Self-Plagiarism
Reusing substantial parts of one’s own previously published work without proper citation is considered self-plagiarism and is equally unacceptable. Authors must disclose prior related work and ensure that reused content is cited correctly, with transparent explanations when needed.

Commitment to Ethical Originality
IJMFD upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. Authors must submit only original work and ensure that all references, quotations, and reused material are correctly cited. The editorial board reserves the right to request supporting documentation or clarifications in cases of suspected overlap or duplication.

Maintaining ethical standards and protecting the integrity of multidisciplinary research is central to our mission. IJMFD is dedicated to fostering a culture of academic honesty and originality in all published content.
